I really don't get anime. Can someone please explain how such disparate characters could have hooked up in one situation, other than some post-apocalyptic thing?
Oh, and an essay on the enduring power of heavy metal wouldn't hurt either.

Anime= Speed Racer for 35yr old adolecscents. Me, I'll take Pinky and the Brain. Or even SpongeBob.
As for Metal, boys like the sound of electric guitars. (How many girls go to Slayer concerts afterall?) I remember reading a review years back that said after the Metallica generation, Metal was no longer rooted in the blues as it was in the early days.
