Miss West Virginia is the subject of this week’s installment of the Friday Afternoon Moment of Whimsy, when she is asked about her most embarrassing moment. Can anyone please tell me what she has to be sorry about?

Then can anyone please tell me how I could have avoided ending that last sentence with a preposition?

"About what has she to be sorry, can anyone tell me?"

As Churchill famously said: "Ending sentences with prepositions is something up with which I shall not put!"

Paul beat me on that one.
However, Miss Lloyd, my sixth grade teacher, drilled it into us that "you cannot use a preposition to end a sentence with.W She also insisted that "'ain't' ain't a word!" She never ruled on "Y'all".
