How Greene Was My Valley?

Alvin Greene was the Democratic candidate for the U S Senate from South Carolina. Greene's campaign was marked by conduct rather unusual for a man running for public office. Not only did he appear underqualified to serve as County Dog Catcher, much less a United States Senator, but he demonstrated unforgivably poor interpersonal and speaking skills. Still, he was the Democratic nominee, and there's a message there somewhere.

Last night, Greene lost to incumbent Republican Jim DeMint, with only 28.2 percent (358,069) of the vote, against DeMint's 62.4 percent (791,627).

He seems to be taking it rather well.
