An Encomium for My Father

In honor of Father's Day, my first piece for Regina Magazine, a tribute to my late father, Paul Andrew Alexander, who passed away in February of 2012.

Leonard was not above self-medicating, and taking his troubles out on his boys, and on his wife. The older boys grew to despise their father, and in a house without peace, found solace among the more spirited youth.

But my father-to-be, Paul, was different ...
