Nimrata “Nikki” Haley (née Randhawa) is serving in the South Carolina legislature. She is running for the Republican nomination for Governor of South Carolina. Because she's a Republican, she is obviously a phony when it comes to family values. How we determine that is of less consequence than that we can, or at least we can try.* I mean, it's not as if candidates for public office ever appear in public with their families, right? And just because the accusations of infidelity by a former staff member are inconclusive at best, doesn't mean we can't draw conclusions this early, right? And when a candidate starts talking about lower taxes, they're obviously in cahoots with those “teabaggers” who like to exercise their right to peaceful assembly, right?
It's sedition, I tell you. SEDITION!!!
We're the mainstream media. You're too busy to make up your own mind about anything. That's what we're here for. We don't have anything better to do, except maybe report on a house fire or write obituaries, and that's too much like work. All those facts and stuff. Geez!
* If you're as cynical as I am (and let's be honest, if you read this blog enough, abandon all hope), even you will find some humor to this analysis of her campaign ad by Slate.com. They don't have anything better to do either.
