Critical Mass: To Be Continued

4am326.jpg

Yesterday we mentioned the vote by the American bishops on the new translation of the Order of Mass. Some of it has been covered here in the past, which is why I'm waiting till the meeting is over to comment on some of the buzz, including what the opposition isn't telling. (Stay tuned...) Meanwhile, here's a jewel worthy of Tiffany's, discovered by The Lion and the Cardinal, and brought to my attention via "Don Jim" Tucker. Click on the picture to learn more.

C'mon David, don't be coy. If you've got info, 'fess up.

Good for the soul, and all.

Sorry, you and Rocco will have to wait. (He won't have the scoop on this either.)

David,

Now that's it's a done deal, can you share with us the text you scooped me on at e-Bay over the winter?

I can only find copies of the second draft out there on the Web (this was the third, wasn't it?)

Jon:

I believe it was the second, with some minor revisions that I noticed (which I guess makes it the third, huh?). The various drafts are known as "gray book" and "green book" and all that, I forget the drill, as I used to cover this issue more closely fifteen years ago. I've dealt with the draft of which you speak in the past year, and I'll refer to that. But there is some history that some bloggers are too young to remember, from the last round. Stay tuned...

What was with that Exposition in 1893. This is the second piece of chapel art I've seen from it. Out in West Bend Iowas there is an altar/back altar piece about twenty feet tall, carved of birds'-eye maple installed in the church. It won a prize also at that exhibition....

Jon,
In your kindness could you post the link to where you found the "second translation" on the web? I have been searching for what seems like hours and cannot find any version at all.
