Parols and Pork Rinds: A Mikey Bustos Update

"Another Saturday night, and I ain't got ..." no Mikey Bustos.

That's right, kids. We haven't had a good dose of our favorite Pinoy Boy in a long time, have we? But he's been busy. During a whirlwind tour of the mother country, he appeared in a series of television commercials for Mang Juan Chicharrón, "chicharrón" being Spanish and/or Tagalog for fried pork rinds, which are as common there as are potato chips in the States. Most of these spots are not two minutes long, but this one is. Go figure.

And, of course, not to be outdone by yours truly, he has his own Filipino Christmas Tutorial, where he explains the customs of the Yuletide season in the Land of Seven Thousand Plus Islands (7,107 to be exact, more or less depending on the tides). To hear him tell it, commercialism has affected the Philippines as it has North America. But he keeps his sense of humor about it, as should we, don't you think?

Or don't you?
