“We were thrust into history.”

In this video produced by the Washington Times, surviving members of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i, remember that fateful day exactly seventy years ago. Recently, a book was published of former President Herbert Hoover's writings of the period, kept hidden until now, of how then-President Franklin Roosevelt's administration deliberately provoked the attack. However you look at it, the heroism of these men is not lessened by circumstances beyond their control, as our world changed forever on that fateful day.

Due to the declining health and dwindling numbers of its membership, the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association may disband at the end of this year.

In which case, the torch shall be passed.
