Earlier this week, we covered Foster & Lloyd, one of the great country music duos of the 1980s before they went their separate ways. Radney Foster had his first single in 1992 with "Just Call Me Lonesome" which appears here in the first clip. This song appeared on the first of eight solo albums, six on the Arista or Dualtone labels, and two of them (including the latest) self-produced.
Bill Lloyd has released ten albums, most of them on specialty labels, and none quite as successful in the country mainstream as any from his former partner. It seems to this writer that without Lloyd, Foster may be a very talented performer, but he doesn't stand out as the two of them would have together. Here is a 1986 performance of Bill Lloyd and the December Boys, at a local station in Nashville, shortly before hooking up with Foster.
