Christ-Mass: Day 11

“On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, eleven pipers piping ...”

Many of us return to work today, to begin a new year, and life going back to normal. This can be a time to take measure of our goals for the year, and to remember the generosity of others in sending out thank you cards. I found a box of Christmas cards last week, that were rather small. They were the right size for thank you cards, and were still about Christmas. So the early part of the week will be spent finishing that up. Later in the week, the decorations at Chez Alexandre will be put back into storage.

In some parts of Europe, the Christmas season lasts forty days, ending with the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord, also known as "Candlemas Day." We'll have more on that later.

Until then, life goes on.
