The News From Haiti

By now, most of you are aware of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in the last 24 hours. We have footage of Harry Smith of CBS News interviewing Raymond Alcide Joseph, Haiti's ambassador to the US. In addition, we have Al Jazeera meteorologist Steff Gaulter, to explain the science behind what made the Caribbean nation so vulnerable, to its worst earthquake in some 200 years.

If you want to help, Catholic Relief Services is accepting donations right now! Another source is Yéle Haiti, a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment. Text YELE to 501501 to donate $5.00 to the Yéle Haiti Earthquake Fund. Text HAITI to 20222 and $10.00 will be donated to the Clinton Foundation Haiti Relief. Either will be charged to your phone bill.

And if that's not enough for you, click here.
