We in America tend to think of monarchy as a relic. This is true even among devout Catholics, who might remember that the very role of Christ as King is an application of the monarchy. Today was the sixtieth anniversary of the coronation of Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This video of highlights of then and now, weaved with the whole of the history of the British isle, is set to the tune of Handel's coronation anthem "Zadok the Priest."
Our mother country remains an inspiration to its rebellious progeny across the sea.
