Now there’s something you don't see every day ...

... at least not around here.

A few years ago, a typical day at this corner of the blogosphere went from an average of 100 visits per day, to 120 visits per day. We were beside ourselves. Lately we've been getting some pretty good plugs, not only from our friends at Creative Minority Reader, but as a result of our new association with Big Pulpit, as well as the Twitter warriors with AlwaysCatholic.com. What you see here at the right is our Sitemeter chart of daily visits from the past eight days. Now, we can go as high at 200, or even 300 on a really good day. But that high bar is where we were early last night, at 401. That has probably never happened in the ten year history of this weblog. (As this is published, the total count last night stopped at 449!)

As the culture wars step up to a new level -- two good priests of my acquaintance told me four years ago, “They’ll go after the schools next.” -- we here at man with black hat are determined to bring our own unique perspective to the public square.

Soli Deo Gloria! To God alone be the glory!
