The latest buzz around the water cooler here at mwbh is the kid from Newark, New Jersey, still in the first year of his term as Governor of the Garden State.
You should have seen Chris Christie on CNN, spitting out facts and figures about the condition of the state budget, and what he intends to do about it. As a US Attorney, he put mobsters behind bars (including guys from his First Communion class for all we know). When you've got that under your belt, you can have some cake-eater from the mainstream press for dessert. Best of all, Christie really doesn't care whether he's re-elected or not, which already distinguishes him from the President and most of Congress.
But listen to the clip, and see why he's this week's Friday Afternoon Moment of Whimsy. You can love him; you can hate him. But you know where he's coming from. Sit back and enjoy.

Chris Christie has approached his term as governor (bought and paid for by Cheney/Rove by the way) in a very confrontational manner, demonizing teachers and the poor while cutting funding for schools and charity care and ridiculing his opposition for their inability to stop him. The reporter simply asked him if this was conducive to governance and he responded with a "would you like to see me angry?" sort of unnecessary threat. I honestly have no idea where he's coming from, since I'm neither rich nor politically connected and I didn't go to private schools for most of my life, but I know that his attitude is harmful to the people of this state. You don't have to live with him as governor, although yours is worse if that's possible, and as somebody who does I can say that he's a disaster to anyone who can't isolate themselves or flee for their lives.
