Look, Mom, I’m Featured!

I got this message last night:

One of your readers has recommended your blog for TeachStreet's Featured Blogger Program. After receiving the recommendation, we checked out your blog and believe that you have some awesome content, so we've decided to feature your work.

As a featured blogger, you receive the benefit of getting a link from our site for every blog post that you publish. TeachStreet is a high traffic online marketplace for local and online classes across hundreds of subjects. Students who search for classes related to the subject you blog about will also see the blog posts that we feature. Also, you have the opportunity to build lasting connections with people in our community who already have a strong interest in your blog's subject matter.

Finally, as a featured blogger you'll have the added benefit of installing a Featured Blogger Badge on your website. This can help further establish you as an authority on religion and spirituality.

Now, I've seen attempts like this before. Someone with time on their hands, and delusions of grandeur, presumes to be the wingnut that holds "St Blog's Parish" together, so they start a website, prepare a widget for linking to them, all so you can be an official member of something that would exist without them. But this isn't anything like that. I saw the work of TeachStreet, and some of the other bloggers of my target audience (some of whom will be featured here in the weeks to come), and it appeared legitimate, even quite advantageous. So, here I am. The TeachStreet link (illustrated here) can be found near the bottom of the blue sidebar to the right.

And with that, a Big-@$$ Tip of the Black Hat, and welcome to any and all who visit us courtesy of TeachStreet.

Oh yeah, we're gonna school ya!

Hi there,
Dave,

"A reader of yours has recommended your blog (Catholic Pillow Fight) for TeachStreet's Featured Blogger Program. After receiving the recommendation, we checked out your blog and believe that you have some awesome content, so we’ve decided to feature your work."

I guess I'm in good company. ;)
